For a film based on the man who is known as the "father of the atomic bomb," you would think that it wouldn't be hard to find what makes Oppenheimer so controversial. The film focuses on an invention that was used in WWII to attack Japan—which resulted in high death tolls and paranoia over nuclear war for the next two decades. Surprisingly, that's not what everyone is talking about. Instead, director Christopher Nolan angered the Hindu-right by having a character utter religious scripture during a sex scene. Since moving to the big city, I've only had one real issue. There isn't a butcher shop in my neighborhood that works for me. I've got a fish market, corner store, and grocery store. But I'm in a goldilocks situation with my butchers. There's none on my block. And while I'm not opposed to a 20 minute walk with a bag of meat, for the price I pay for any steak in 2023, I want a little bit more. So what did I do? I tuened to Snake River Farms and bought the best steak of my life—off the internet, shipped to my door. |

George Sotelo launched his first capsule range of Thorsun swimwear featuring prints from the archive of legendary French shirtmaker Charvet back in 2021. The first ever collab in the near-200-year-old Parisian brand's history, it was the result of a long and painstaking research process, that as well as delving into the archives, meant finding a suitably quick-drying man-made cloth that would function for swim and critically also do justice to the bold colors and unique in-house patterns the brand has been using for cottons and silks for decades. |
