It's getting brisk out there. Chilly, even. Winter is on its way, which means that now is a great time to start thinking about changing up your cologne. Sure, there's value in having a signature scent. But the best winter fragrances offer so many wonderful notes—spices and woods, leather and tobacco, amber and incense—that it'd be a damn shame not to bring them into your rotation. We've tried tons and rounded up our 13 favorites for 2025, so you can start with a short list and narrow it down from there. Who knows… you might even find a new signature scent to keep you feeling warm and smelling great until spring arrives. – Jonathan Evans, style director Plus: |

Swap your signature scent for something smoky, spicy, and cozy.

We swap out our wardrobes from summer to winter, putting shorts and swimsuits into storage and moving puffer coats and parkas back into our closets. If we change the clothes we wear each season, shouldn't the same go for our fragrances? We're not saying you have to leave your favorite scent on the shelf to gather dust, but come winter, the impulse is to switch things up in favor of something cozier, warmer, and a little more seasonally appropriate. Nothing gives Vibes with a capital V like fragrance, which is why winter has its own signature scent. Think about roaring fires, crackling logs, warming spices, mulled wine or hot toddies, and the bite of crisp cold when you step outside—you'll notice that the best winter colognes all take inspiration from the iconic scents of the season. If you're anything like us, when it's cold outside we gravitate toward scents with woody notes, spiciness, rich leather, smoky tobacco, and warm amber. They help transport you to a cozy, comfortable headspace and also help you warm up when there's a chill in the air. |

| There was very little I could tell you about Pluribus before watching its premiere. The team behind the new series from from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan went to great lengths to keep the show's plot under wraps—quite the risk for a TV show in 2025, where streamers battle it out daily with a constant deluge of debuts. Outside of a bizarre clip of a woman licking an entire box of donuts and then placing them out for her fellow employees to eat, Apple TV only released a photo of actress Rhea Seahorn (Better Call Saul) and a vague log-line: "The most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness." That's it. Now that the first two episodes are out, it's a bit easier to fit the pieces together and see why the series wanted to keep their big Twilight Zone-esque reveal a mystery. |

You're ready to graduate from your reliable Tuesday-night companion, the $20 bottle of wine. Maybe it's time for a special-occasion vino. Maybe you received a pay bump, which means you can permanently upgrade. Either way, congratulations, and welcome to the deep end. There's good news here. "Now is the best time to buy premium wines in the past 25 years," says Will Harlan, managing director of Harlan Estate, a prestigious Napa Valley winery where the allocation list runs years deep. "The quality of wine has improved drastically, and there's a pandemic price correction where producers are lowering their prices." But for newcomers staring at triple-digit prices, the wine world can feel impossibly daunting. |
