Update on the measures we are taking to keep you safe from COVID-19

At Jumia, our key priority is the health and well-being of our team members, consumers, partners and communities. We have taken precautionary measures internally and externally and made contingency plans that we will continue to assess as the situation changes.
 

We are committed to the highest possible hygiene standards and implementing some additional changes to our daily operations and delivery services to ensure the safest experience. 
 

These include but are not limited to: checking employees’ body temperatures, sanitizing facilities and surfaces, using masks and gloves while handling and delivering your orders and encouraging using JumiaPay over making cash payments, when possible. 
 

We strive to continue operating so that our customers continue to use ecommerce as a safe way to shop in these challenging times. 
 

Here are the top measures that Jumia is taking to ensure your safety and that of our community:

Contactless Delivery
1. Contactless delivery
Providing a safe and hygienic shopping environment and home delivery is key, and to that commitment, we have put in place some additional measures to ensure your peace of mind. You can now have the delivery agent leave your order at your doorstep whenever possible and ring the bell to reduce contact with them.

2. Cashless payment
By enabling people to pay online, we reduce handling of cash which can further reduce physical contact as well as potential person to person infection via cash notes. Jumia offers special incentive to its users to complete their transactions with JumiaPay and limit the use of cash in times where cash can be more risky for health and safety. Jumia will offer a 5% discount at checkout to all users.
3. Protective gears for our staff
Orders are prepared in a quality controlled clean environment; disinfection of all surfaces has been amplified and our staff are required to wear a mask and gloves while preparing and delivering your orders.
 
4. Measures against price hiking and hoarding
We are proud to work closely with our partners to provide access to key hygiene products at the most affordable price possible for our consumers.
