The Best Ray-Ban Wayfarer Is On Sale Right Now

The real star of the show in the Wayfarer lineup is the Wayfarer Ease. It maintains the doesn't-get-better-than-this shape of the originals, but takes away the tilt so the sunglasses fit more comfortably on more faces. And because on this Tuesday, for whatever reason, the style gods have seen fit to bless us, the Wayfarer Ease is currently on sale for 30 percent off. That means that most timeless combo—black with G15 lenses, naturally—rings in at just $112.70. (Oh, also: The Wayfarer Classic is also on sale. Same markdown, same new price. If you opt for the tilt, hey, I'm not going to blame you. Not everyone has to agree with me!) By no means is this the cheapest pair of sunglasses you'll find. But for a bonafide classic made even better by a clever modern update, it's a damn steal. Please shop accordingly. Read More

Rare Photos of Celebrities Inside L.A.'s Infamous Viper Room

The Viper Room opened on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood in 1993. Johnny Depp was one of the owners (he would give up his stake in 2004). The music venue quickly became a gathering spot for the cool kids in Hollywood and gained notoriety when, on Halloween night in 1993, River Phoenix overdosed on drugs and died at the age of 23. That did not hurt the club's popularity, however. Stars of the time continued to turn up, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Aniston, and Keanu Reeves. Adam Duritz, the lead singer of Counting Crows, bartended at the Viper Room while his band was putting out hit singles. During the '90s and early 200os, it was one of those places with an outsized reputation. It was also relatively free of photographers; however, some photos were taken throughout that period, and they offer a glimpse into a wild world. Read More

If You Thought the Reaction to the '1619 Project' Was Ugly, Just Wait for This

Sooner or later, somebody finds where the bodies are buried. For an institution based on the concept of resurrection, Holy Mother Church certainly hasn't grasped the concept that the dead do not always stay buried. Its complicity in colonialism—cultural and otherwise—mixed with its own millennia-old perversity toward human sexuality has led it into horrors that, in their own way, rival the crimes committed against children, and covered up, that have come to light over the past 20 years.
