Running any distance for any amount of time for any reason other than getting chased by a lion is a feat in itself. We don't need to make the act of running harder than it already is with sub-optimal, unsupportive, or downright uncomfortable shoes. Long-distance running is a broad term, but we're looking at shoes that support more than just a quick sprint. Probably, a shoe that can work well over a consistent amount of time, probably over outdoor terrain, and has elements that support comfort, stability, and speed. Running shoes are incredibly personal, so here, it's not about the best one for everyone but really, the best one for you. These pairs were tested and won by myself and our staffers—plus we surveyed a ton of online forums. We all ended up on the same choices, and for good reason. |
