Tell you the truth, I'm starting to miss Dr. Ronny Jackson, the White House quack during the last time around. Jackson at least was entertaining. He was investigated for being half in the wrapper most of the time, and then there was that whole White House pill mill thing that derailed his career so badly that now, Jackson's a member of Congress. (This country has gone had wrong in its haid.) In his place we have Dr. Sean Barbadella, who this weekend earned his salary by being as useful as Doc Ronny used to be. |

Want to know what makes The Last of Us succeed where other video-game adaptations do not? (I am absolutely looking at you, devil children who are destroying theaters during screenings of Minecraft.) Craig Mazin (who co-created the series with the man behind the video game, Neil Druckmann) is incredibly gifted at evoking the feeling of gameplay in the show. For starters, Ellie and Dina's unasked-for assault on the grocery store was an incredible feat from Mazin. Ellie exploring the break room, where she learned that a dog won employee of the month? Her banter with Dina, which led to an attack on an unsuspecting clicker? And the grand finale of Ellie discovering a new-and-improved mushroom monster? Gold. All of it. |

The world has changed a lot since The Last of Us introduced viewers to a post-apocalyptic world full of mushroom monsters and grizzled survivors. What hasn't changed? Anticipation for the return of our favorite pseudo-father-daughter duo: Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. Luckily, the pair is ready to crawl back into the cold, moldy embrace of the HBO thriller for the season 2 premiere. "I didn't realize how much I missed you until we were back doing a scene together," Ramsey told Pascal during our Zoom call earlier this month. "And then I never wanted it to stop." |
