Tequila—you either love it or hate it. What’s undeniable, however, is the explosion of new brands over the past decade. With such an overwhelming amount of tequila available, it can be hard to parse the difference between the ones worth shelling out your precious bucks for and the additive-infused ones that leave a bad aftertaste. Reporter Jonah Flicker has been doing the leg work to identify the best bottles, hands down. Check out his recommendations below.

The spirits industry has hit a rough patch. Sales are down across all categories as people—especially younger people, sorry to point fingers—are drinking less. An uncertain economic environment means people are saving their money instead of spending it on things like booze. Still, tequila has become incredibly popular over the past few years. There are a ridiculous amount of brands out there to choose from. Yes, some of them have celebrity names attached. No, that doesn’t mean they’re any good. But there are some tequila brands that are certainly worth paying attention to—not to mention drinking—provided you haven’t gone California sober.

It’s a big year for sci-fi. Closing out 2026 will be the dual release of Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three, and the competition will be fierce if the Marvel brand is strong enough to compete against TimothĂ©e Chalamet. But until then, the year has quite a selection of sci-fi movies that are worth the price of admission.
The year started strong with Project Hail Mary, a Ryan Gosling vehicle in which the Drive and Barbie star plays a schoolteacher who wakes up in a spaceship far from Earth. Out of SXSW, there were movies like Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice, a time-travel caper that brings a gangster-movie edge to sci-fi, and Anima, an intimate and tender road movie about two strangers on a journey of connections.
The rest of 2026 will see some big sci-fi films that just might challenge both Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three as the year’s buzziest releases.
