Ashton Kutcher is back in a big way. He is starring opposite Reese Witherspoon in the romantic comedy Your Place or Mine, out February 10 on Netflix. And elsewhere on the platform, he's currently going viral for reprising the role that first catapulted him into the public consciousness—Kelso on the sitcom That '70s Show—in the first episode of the streamer's well-received reboot, That '90s Show. While the roles he has chosen for his acting return are familiar, he's approaching the work from a whole new vantage point. He's survived tabloid scrutiny, his own "asshole" behavior, and, more recently, a harrowing medical scare. Now the actor-turned-investor—rich, happy at home—is making his return to Hollywood. And he's just as driven as ever.

The infinitely programmable Trump Scandal Machine was operating at maximum again on Monday. New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg, apparently arisen from a deep and unprofitable slumber, empaneled a grand jury to look into the question of whether the former president might be indicted on charges associated with payments to Stormy Daniels, the film icon whose dalliance with El Caudillo del Mar-A-Lago has always been the primary sideshow attraction in the overall carnival of corruption that, well, mushroomed around the previous administration. |

In Esquire's newest episode of "Explain This"—which debuted on the occasion of our first-ever digital cover story, which features Kutcher—the actor let us in on a his go-to karaoke story, which features a cameo by none other than Harry Styles. But Kutcher didn't know that. At first. "There's an extraordinarily well known singer, that is maybe the best singer today, that we happen to be neighbors with, and she happens to be throwing a karaoke party," Kutcher says in the video. "She gets up and does this like out of the world bananas [performance], and I'm like this is just so unfair." Ashton never names the first singer, so conjure up your best guess before you get to the kicker here. "We go to our friend and we go, 'God, that guy was really good, huh?,'" Kutcher recalls. "And he's like, 'It's Harry Styles.' And I was like, 'Who's that?'" |
