So, just how faithful is Denis Villeneuve's sequel? The short answer is this: Dune: Part Two is somewhat faithful to the original novel, but decidedly less so than Part One. In the most general sense, Part Two replicates the tone, message, and basic events of the novel, certainly more so than the 1984 Dune. But the sand devil is in the details.
