A thought experiment: What would we call a white man who wore a bomber jacket adorned with the Confederate flag and then hawked other Confederate-themed merchandise? What would we call a white man who pledged open support of Donald "Blame-on-both-sides" Trump, and who went so far as to wear a MAGA hat for a White House meeting and announce it made him feel like Superman? What would we call a white man who appeared on TMZ and proclaimed slavery was a "choice" for Black people? What shall we call a man who stages a huge fashion show and dons a shirt that bullies into our collective consciousness, the indisputable ethos of white supremacists? |
