As Tom Cruise prepared to finish the Mission: Impossible series in 2025, I came to a horrifying realization: I had somehow never seen a Mission: Impossible movie. Embarrassing, I know, but I fixed it right away with the best movie marathon of my lifetime. It came in handy this week when—with Cruise's latest, Digger, now in theaters—we ranked every Tom Cruise movie, from worst to best. Read it below. —Brady Langmann, senior entertainment editor

The screen legend is still in search of his first acting Oscar, even though there’s one film that, without a doubt, he should’ve won it for.

What’s next for Tom Cruise? The actor, now in his sixties, is showing no signs of slowing down—not that anyone thought he’d ever rest. After spending his early career working with just about every major director of the eighties and nineties, he put out eight Mission: Impossible films and inarguably “saved the movies” following the COVID-19 pandemic with one of the biggest sequels of all time: Top Gun: Maverick.
Next up? Cruise plans to make even more blockbuster sequels in Days of Thunder 2 and trilogy-capping Top Gun 3. He’s also starring in Digger, now in theaters, a critically panned satire about the current state of the world. Still, Cruise’s performance is so berserk that he’ll likely compete for Best Actor at the Oscars again. Insanely, he’s on the list of actors who have never won the golden man. (We’re not counting his honorary Oscar.)
So, to properly celebrate his career, we ranked every Tom Cruise film—from his brief appearance in The Outsiders to his latest role in Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s Digger—from worst to best. Though with Cruise, even his “worst” films are often never his fault.

As I write this, I’m sitting at my kitchen table with a lit pumpkin candle next to me and dark academia fall ambiance on the TV. Call me cringey, but I love this season. There’s something about autumn that makes me want to don a cable-knit sweater and peacoat and relive my undergrad English major years with a fat book in my lap and a view of the New England mountains. Because fall is, undeniably, the most sophisticated of the seasons.
But truly embracing fall takes more than looking the part—you need to smell like it, too. It’s time to put your fun, aquatic, citrusy scents away and bring out those darker fragrances, the ones that smell like warm spices, crisp leaves, and old books. And for those of you who really want to impress your friends, family, and coworkers this season, you need something luxurious.

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote an article on fall essentials. The premise of the post, at its most basic, was that the world of menswear seems to be returning to nice, normal clothing. This is good news. I embrace it. I endorse it. But I also believe that you’ve got to get a little freaky with your wardrobe from time to time.
In the spirit of the latter sentiment, I present to you a slightly different list of light jackets to wear this fall. Instead of focusing on the stuff you already know and probably already own—your standard truckers, Harringtons, field jackets, and the like—I encourage you to wander just a little bit off the beaten path.
You don’t need me to tell you, in 2026, that a chore jacket can be an easy, casual substitute for a blazer. Why not mix it up and have some fun during this brief, beautiful period in which the light jacket is the star of your wardrobe? Let it shine, man! Let it do its damn thing.
