Leonardo DiCaprio's Cannes Red Carpet Sunglasses Are Worth Buying (and Flexing)

Yesterday, we clued you in on Garrett Leight's shades because Leo's co-star, Brad Pitt, wore an eternally stylish pair of the brand's sunglasses. Where Brad opted for a modern twist on the classic wayfarer, Leo went the route of a more squared frame (which is very cool and not at all square in that sense.) The fact that the people calling this particular square dance are John Bolton and Mike Pompeo fills me with confidence in neither my government's competence in this regard nor in its honesty. And now, from the Washington Post, comes just the kind of story you want to hear when the United States is flirting with war in Persia. Read More

Netflix Is Realizing That Shows Don't Have to Be Long to Be Good

As viewers' time continues to dwindle, the 15-minute episode feels like the natural progression of television. Hours are being consolidated into half-hours. The traditional 30-minute sitcom is being reworked into 15 minutes. And the beleaguered viewer with a Netflix queue as long as their arm can find a bit of respite. But before the format can truly get its footing, Netflix and other developers have to find the right type of stories to tell. Why not solve a murder in six 15-minute episodes? The clock is ticking.
